Clothing collector and heir to the beer company Daphne Guinness put 102 pieces from her wardrobe on the auction block to benefit the Isabella Blow Foundation in memory of her late fashion editor friend. The clothing auction at Christie’s London raised over $740,000 for the Foundation, a large portion of which came from Lady Gaga. The singer spent an estimated $132,000 on an Alexander McQueen dress from Guinness’s collection. Rumor has it that Gaga wasn’t even present at the event , the singer bid by phone from the U.S. and thanks to her generosity, the dress broke records to become the highest price paid for a McQueen dress at auction EVER. WOW!
The $132,000 ivory silk tulle empire line gown comes from McQueen’s Autumn Winter 2008 collection.
Emma Watson wore the gown in September 2008.
The eccentric entertainer has always fancied McQueen’s designs, below the singer wore a white McQueen avant-garde wedding gown in her bad romance video.
Oh, to have that kind of money to spend on your wardrobe… gorgeous!
