Roger’s Gardens Is My New Favorite Place!

9 May

Roger’s Gardens is a family owned home and garden wonderland in Newport Beach, California. The grounds are filled with flowers, trees, plants, fountains, pottery and buildings that house more plants, furnishings and collectables. It’s like a huge indoor/outdoor gift shop with the cutest, unique stuff. From books to candles to cards to perfume, I wanted everything!!!! You can walk the grounds for hours just looking at the scenery and shopping. There are stations where you make your own arrangements, pot your own plants, and my favorite- a butterfly tree, where you write a wish on a wooden butterfly and tie it to the tree.

The cherry on top of it all is an amazing restaurant situated overlooking the lower gardens! The restaurant, Farmhouse, is beautifully chic with covered outdoor seating complete with a gazebo. It’s stunning and the farm to table food is so good. I feel like we went at the perfect time, the reservation was at 2:30 and then we walked around the gardens after. We were there until they closed at 6 but could’ve easily walked around longer because it was that pretty. I bought a milk weed plant and a small coffee table book. Overall, I loved it and can’t wait to go back, especially during holidays, they are known to go all out with their decor for Halloween and Christmas.

I love cozy sweaters during Fall and Winter, and wear them differently depending on the temp outside. I recently found a sweater that can go from day to night and cool to cold! This boatneck sweater is warm enough to wear alone, but thin enough to layer under a jacket. It’s comes in so many colors and is under $40 at Old Navy.  I bought the camel color, what color will you buy?

Teeth whitening at home! (Giveaway)

17 Nov

My smile has always been something I have been proud of. As a kid, I was taken to the dentist regularly and am grateful for being raised with my teeth being a priority. As an adult I continue to visit the dentist regularly and have used at home whitening strips. Whitening strips were the only form of at home teeth whitening that I had ever used until Smile Brilliant reached out to me. I was so eager to try smile Brilliant! The main reason was the custom trays, unlike strips that only whiten the front few teeth, custom trays allow the whitening gel to contact all of your teeth. My only concern was my sensitivity that I’ve experienced before and that was quickly resolved with the Smile Brilliant desensitizing gel that I applied after I whitened. I felt NO sensitivity when I used it- I was pleasantly surprised.

Smile Brilliant has clear instructions and was very user-friendly. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for dentist office results in the comfort of your own home, and for a fraction of the price. I used Smile brilliant every night before bed which made it incredibly easy to squeeze into my busy lifestyle. As far as price goes, In office Dental whitening can cost upwards of $4oo compared to the Smile Brilliant system that is under $150.FullSizeRender (2)

Let’s Talk Terrariums!

28 Feb

I’ve been getting so many questions about my cute little terrarium and thought I’d share all the information with you here. First of all, if you don’t know what a terrarium is, don’t fret. I’m sure you’ve seen them around. A terrarium is an enclosed, indoor garden, usually small and made of glass so that you can see your collection of plants. Before I knew that they were called terrariums, I was searching for ‘Geometric plant holder” and open air vase” on Pinterest and google until I purchased mine from West Elm.

Now that we’ve covered the name, let’s talk about how cute terrariums are and how neat it is to have a living piece of art in your home. I also love how low maintenance they are- I literally mist mine with a spray bottle once a week and nothing more. Making it was quick and easy as well (and I am NOT a crafty person). It took me about 20 minutes total. Pinterest gave me inspiration and I looked up you tube videos on how to layer the terrarium in different ways and chose the look of white rocks on the bottom to match my current gold and neutral theme. Some people incorporate sand as well as tiny figurines. I kept mine more minimal and layered it starting on the bottom with white rocks, then added some dirt from outside, planted succulents in the dirt, then topped it off with some moss. It’s fun to make them your own!

I bought the succulents, white rocks, and moss from Home depot and the actual terrarium is from West Elm. I definitely recommend a terrarium if you want to add a cool piece of living breathing art to your home. They are easy, affordable and super cute!!!

My Favorite Face Masks!

17 Nov

I’m pretty big on skin care as most of you already know and my daily and weekly regimens are pretty intense. I take my skin seriously because I only get one face and quite frankly I don’t want a wrinkly one. Aging gracefully is beautiful but premature aging is not! (in my opinion) An important part of my regimen is face masks. I do a mask once or twice a week depending on the condition of my skin. My favorite face masks are by origins are pretty amazing! Shop my favorites below:)

One is a charcoal mask that clears pores. $26mask The other one clears pores as well but is a little more focused on clearing up acne and oil. I actually use this one as a spot treatment on my acne while I sleep. Out of trouble mask $26
