Sephora has announced that they will be launching a monthly subscription beauty box that will directly compete with Birch Box. Birch box came on the beauty scene in 2010 and has been an industry leader since. Sephora is looking to cash in on the popular monthly subscription box services that are gaining in popularity. There are boxes for just about everything from your dog (Bark Box) to your inner Zen (Mindfulness Box). Sephora’s beauty box called “Play” will launch in Boston, Columbus and Cincinatti Ohio in September with more cities to follow in 2016. The subscription will cost $10 per month and is expected to include 5 deluxe sized samples of beauty products.
