Farewell Mint…….

2 Sep

I love pastels and adore wearing light and fun colors all Spring and Summer long.  This past Spring/Summer was no different I wore pastels like crazy but I wore the hell out of MINT!!!!!!! I LOVE ALL THINGS MINT!  I really had a love affair with the robin’s egg hue!  Now that Summer is coming to an end…..I am sad to say goodbye to my beloved mint pieces as I move on and embrace my “darker” side for Fall/Winter.  I’m not saying I’ll be totally mintless…..there are days where I will wear it I’m sure……….but I won’t be wearing mint whenever possible like I have for the last 6 months.

Mint…..I will always love you and perhaps next Spring we will pick up where we left off.

Pronounce Designer Names With iPhone App.

29 Aug

Having an unusual, hard-to-pronounce name is practically a prerequisite for a career as a fashion designer!  There is no more guessing with the speak chic App.  The $1.99 iPhone app includes nearly 300 fashion brands and designer names.  You can browse or search the A-Z list for your favorite fashion labels and listen to recorded pronunciations of top designers and vital fashion lingo. In addition to the “help”, you can also read up on the history of your favorite fashion houses.

Fashion’s Fat Fall Issues

29 Aug

In the world of fashion magazines, the September issue is the most anticipated copy of the year. Crammed with glossy editorials, beautiful images and Fall ad campaigns, these issues are the ‘bible’ of fashion for months to come and are often the biggest issues of the year.  U.S. Vogue produced it’s biggest issue ever this year with 916 pages, weighing in at nearly five pounds!!!!! Here is a roundup of this years major covers from around the globe.

On a budget?  Your local library carries many fashion magazines that are free to read.

Starting with my favorite triple cover….

Vogue Paris Cover(s) which feature Kate Moss, Lara stone and Daria Werbowy in the same black Dolce & Gabbana dress.

The New ‘It’ Bag?

28 Aug

Every once in a handbag comes around that represents timeless luxury, a bag that women drool over. This time it’s the Heroine bag by Alexander McQueen.   The feminine, yet sculptured top handled design comes in various leathers and sizes.  Think of it as a stylish satchel meets Doctors bag, perfect for many years of wear.  If you’d like a Heroine bag of your own, buckle up they do come with a hefty four figure price tag, but what ‘it’ bag doesn’t?

Shop the Heroine bag HERE.

Additional thoughts…….. Does this bag have the ‘it’ factor? Absolutely! My favorite part of this bag is the beautiful shape and the flap in front. My least favorite part of this bag….the flap in front…which makes the contents of the bag impossible to access when it’s on your arm.  A bit impractical a la Hermès Birkin, beautiful nonetheless.
