Kimono Style

I love kimono style tops, in particular kimono style silky or sheer “cardigans”. I love the open and airy feel they have and how they can be worn as a light jacket and are layerable in warm Summer months. I  love the drapey soft and feminine silhouette of these tops and I have included some of my favorite styles to shop below. These can be worn with a plain tank top or T shirt and jeans or over a solid dress.

Block Party!

Colorblocking is such a fun way to make a statement. It seems tricky at first but it can be done with ease. Lets start with the obvious, the absolute foolproof way to rock the block is by wearing a color block dress or a color blocked top and neutral bottoms. *Remember neutrals include black,white, grey and nude. As you get more comfortable with it you can start pairing up separates. If you want to start simple  you can pair a bright hue with a nude hue and if your feeling frisky you can pair two or more bold colors. I really love the look of a bright hues paired with a pastel hues also, very pretty. Adding a color blocked shoe to an otherwise simple outfit is also an easy way to add some oomph to your look.  Just try different combinations on and see what works for you. .

Zig Zag

Every wardrobe should include at least one zig zag piece.  I see zig zag patterns as a kind of stripe gone wild! They are so fun to wear.  I’ve been a Missoni fan since I was a kiddo and no zig zag post would be complete without thanking them for opening the zig zag painted door  for  fellow designers to take inspiration from. I prefer to wear zig zags with solids , sometimes I wear all black with my Missoni flats or a zig zag dress with beige strappy flat sandals and when I’m feeling extra zesty, I’ll pick a color from the zig zag piece that I’m wearing and pair it with a matching flat or clutch to bring it all together for a bold & bright look. In The Buff

Don’t be afraid of public nudity! Wearing nudes and Beiges is a great way to wear a neutral other than white. I love wearing nude with black heels and accessories. Nudes can also be worn with bright accessories like teals and pinks. If your more of a safe dressed gal, you can opt for the monochromatic look of head to toe nude with neutral accessories, it  looks really pretty. As far as nude heels, if you follow this blog you know they are a STAPLE in my wardrobe and I love all nude heels! They really do match everything and elongate your legs so buy nude heels asap and you’ll never say ‘what shoe should I wear’ because your nude heel will bring any outfit together.
