Here are my top 3 picks from last nights red carpet!
Beyonce in a Osman by Osman Yousefzada jumpsuit.
Taylor Swift in a grecian J. Mendel gown.
Rihanna in a crimson Azzedine Alaia gown.
Prabal Gurung is a busy man as of late, his (love) Target collection launches in stores and online tomorrow and he presented his F/W 2013 collection in New York today. The militant aesthetic consisted of strong, polished looks. Leather belts and harnesses were everywhere and peplum was prevalent, proving indeed it is here to stay. The palette of rich navy blues, army greens and crimson were just beautiful. The gold hardware was impeccable and was carried from the clothes to the shoes – all custom-made by Cesare Casadei! WOW! Great strong empowering collection today, and I’m very excited to shop the frilly feminine collection tomorrow at Target!

Not even a blizzard could stop Jason Wu from filling up a beautiful Park Avenue venue to present his Fall 2013 collection Friday. Despite weather worries, a full house of spectators gazed in awe at one of the most anticipated collections of New York fashion week. There was an essence of elegance and glamour and the clothes were sexy and sophisticated. The mostly black a white palette included crisp collars, belted waists and pleated skirts ! I especially loved the makeup led by Lancome’s Diane Kendal, who created beautiful looks consisting of bold indigo cat eyes with muted lips and cheeks. This show was pretty amazing, nothing new for Mr. Wu!

New york fashion week is in full swing in and around Lincoln Center!!!! With over 80 designers showcasing their Fall/Winter 2013 collections over 8 days….. the semi-annual event(February & September) is the biggest event in the American fashion industry! I look forward to so many shows and will be sharing my favorite looks with you all. Let’s do this!!!!!!!
Lots of layering at BCBG
Beautiful fabrics and embellishments at Tadashi Shoji.
Beyonce’s gorgeous Super bowl costume took a team of 14 people over 200 hours to create! Designer to the stars Rubin Singer spoke about the detail that went into the ensembles “My seamstresses were assembling all of the leather and exotic skins individually by hand. All of the pieces were separate details that were all constructed on her body.”
The Cambridge Satchel Company has been in the works with American designer Chris Benz on the fun and colorful Spring 2013 (Virginia) collection. The bags are the classic Cambridge designs that we’ve come to expect and love but have a few new fun twists. The bags are available in 9 colors and all have a signature white front pocket and the bag is a smaller more compact shape with a single top handle and comes with a longer removable strap as well. While the buckles look exactly the same, they have magnetic closures which is awesome, making it way easier to get in and out of your bag. This collection will be available later this month at Bloomingdales $295.
