Fabulous Friday Finds- Beauty Edition ( nothing over $20)

8 Mar

Happy Friday Fashionistas!!!!!! Today’s FFF post is all about beauty and includes my favorite products that are $20 or less.  While I do have my pricier items that I can’t live without, most of my favorite beauty products are affordable and I’m going to share them with you today!  These products are available at your local Ulta beauty store or drugstores like Target, Rite Aid and CVS.  Happy shopping.

NYX Matte Bronzer $9

I love this product and use it to contour and add glow without shimmer!

matte bronzer

Aquaphor $4

This “vaseline like” stuff repairs most any dry skin including lips, cuticles, elbows, knees etc.  I use it on my lips every night before bed.

Aquaphor

NYX matte lip cream $6

This is my go to lip color most days of the week, it’s matte and stains the lips perfectly without being sticky or drying out my lips.

Milani Crystal lipgloss $4

When I want slight shine, this lip gloss is perfect.  I usually take it out with me, it’s so tiny and fits in any clutch. My favorite color is whisper- a nice peachy pink.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 70. $10       Remember……you only get 1 face!  Protect it!!!!!

SPF 70 is what I use on my face every day whether or not I wear makeup it’s just a part of my daily routine.  I did however have a hard time finding sunscreen that I liked for my face because I have sensitive skin that breaks out easily with new products or greasy lotions.  This formula is very light and NOT STICKY!

Maybelline Falsies Mascara $7

This is my favorite mascara of all time (although clump crusher is close second now). I put 2 coats on my upper lashes and 1 coat on my lower and I’m good to go.  I don’t wear false lashes so this product is my “falsies”.

Falsies

Urban Decay Primer Potion- eyeshadow primer $20

I don’t even attempt to wear eyeshadow without this miracle product!  It keeps my eye shadow crease free for hours upon hours and helps the color ‘pop’ as well!  I have tried all the primers on the market and this is by far my favorite, it’s the only one that works for me.

Primer

NYC Brow Kit $4

This is my favorite brow kit not only because it works great, but the price is incredible!!!!! I’m kind of obsessed with beautiful thick eyebrows and this kit helps me maintain mine!  I have never been a fan of eye brow pencils because in my experiences they always leave room for error- and by error I mean a drawn on clown eyebrow look- which is so not for me.  I’ve always preferred brush on powder and wax kits because they give a more natural look while still filling in brows flawlessly!  So if you want thick bold brows or just need a little help filling in, this product won’t let you down!

Pick a Palette!

5 Aug

If you’re an eyeshadow lover, then this post is for you. I am an eyeshadow lover and  my go-to combo would definitely  be a neutral smokey eye.  I’m often asked what brand I like most and there isn’t one answer, that’s for sure.   After years of trying shadow after shadow I keep going back to the same brands; MAC, Urban Decay, Smashbox and NYX!  Yes NYX is included on my list.  NYX is a very reasonably priced makeup brand that I love and have great quality products for the price. They have excellent shadows and also sell my favorite soft matte lip cream, which is amazing!!!! All I want in an eyeshadow are great colors, incredible color payoff, long lasting wear and high pigment and these brands provide that consistently!  I do use primer so that my shadow pops and because I naturally have oily lids that cause my eyeshadow to crease after only a couple hours of wear. ok back to the shadows.  I am a fan of palettes because they are super fun, easy to take on the go and are almost always a better deal than buying everything separate.  As a fan of the neutral smokey eye, Urban Decay’s Naked palettes are perfect…..I am especially a fan of the Naked 2 palette!  I have recently discovered some other palettes worth trying and have been very happy with them as well. Here is the list starting with my favorite Naked 2.

Urban Decay Naked 2 palette($50): Includes 12 shadows, a dual sided shadow brush and a travel sized lip gloss. available at Sephora.

Urban Decay Smoked palette($49): Includes 10 shadows, a full sized eyeliner and a travel sized eyeshadow primer my fav primer. Available at Sephora.

Smashbox Masters palette($59): Includes 28 shadows, 4 brow powders, 8 cream eyeliners, 2 blushes, 3 highlights and 4 lip glosses. Available at Sephora.

NYX All I ever wanted palette($28): Includes 72 shadows, 8 face colors, 6 lip colors and 4 blushes. available at NYX.

Note: MAC and Urban Decay also sell empty palettes that you can fill with the eyeshadow colors of your choice.

Urban Decay Revamps Eyeshadow

31 Mar

Everybody in the makeup industry is buzzing about Urban Decay’s complete revamping of the single eyeshadows. Urban Decay was the first “cool” eyeshadow I’d ever bought, not the same old colors that every other makeup brand offered. If you’re an Urban Decay shadow lover, then you’re gonna REALLY love this news!  Everything has changed, for the better. The actual eyeshadow formula, shade selection and packaging are different. The packaging is still a creative and cool subway token lookalike, but just a bit more modern. The color selection includes many of the previous shades that we all loved, best sellers, and favorites previously only available in select palettes for a total of 68 shades. As far as the formula, they have a super soft suede like velvety texture and even more blendable high pigmented distribution than the shadows I thought were already awesome! The color payoff is ridiculous, you don’t have to pack it on the lid with these dense pigments and the fallout is way less as well(no raccoon eyes)Sound like a dream come true?  Well it gets even better…… The newly designed cases allow for the shadow pots to be “popped” in and out. Why you ask? There is a new build your own palette YES you can select six different colors and mix and match them exactly how you want and  can change the palette as often as you wish. If your going on a tropical vacation you can take all your neutrals and grieges  along and if your headed to Vegas for the weekend you can bring your fun “party” colors. The palette comes with a travel size eyeshadow brush and one shadow to start you off called walk of shame (a peachy-pink matte shade perfect for base, highlighting or wearing alone) and comes in a sturdy mirrored case that’s fits easily into a purse. The palette with starter shadow is $18 and each eyeshadow is $18, so you basically get the case and brush for free!  Early launch RIGHT NOW only at Urbandecay.com  and Coming soon to beauty stores near you!!!!! and remember……Don’t forget your Primer!
