Perfectly Posh…..My New Obsession

17 Sep

I have a new product obsession……….. perfectly posh oh my gosh!!!!!!  perfectly posh is a fairly new company that was launched in 2011, they have over 100 personal care & beauty products to pamper yourself with. The products include lotion, body butter, lip balm, soaps, massage oils and more.  Why do I love  Perfectly Posh so much?????  Well, I have ANNOYING sensitive skin and have to be very selective with what I use on it, so I am always interested yet cautious about trying new beauty products out.

The great thing about Perfectly Posh is this amazing list  below (especially if you have sensitive skin)

  • Paraben free and Paraffin free
  • Free of sulfates including SLS
  • No gluten, lanolin or soy ingredients
  • PP Only uses the highest quality essential oils and phthalate free fragrances
  • PP Products are very natural and consequently gentle…PP encourages you to read their labels.
  • PP uses natural enzymes and gently moisturizing vitamin E to preserve the life of their products
  • PP is cruelty free and does not test on animals

few months back I was sent some of these amazing products to try…..I tried the lip balm right away and loved it, I admit I let the other stuff sit around for a while before I “took a chance” on it.  I tried the “sugar fix” sugar scrub first….WOWZERS it made my skin super soft and moisturized but not greasy or oily at all.  I  love sugar scrubs but they usually leave me pretty greasy so I have previously avoided them altogether until now.  I’ve been using this scrub for over a month now and all is well.  My hands down favorite product is the chunk ‘Gender bender’ soap, yes I actually had to use two hands at first to hold it…..it’s BIG. It is literally a big chunk of black soap made with activated charcoal powder, silt and carbon to draw out dirt and free radicals instantly. It leaves my entire body feeling clean without being dry. It smells great too, a nice neutral scent for both men and woman to use.  It is the best soap I have ever used! ( I now use it on my face as well) There you have it, a run down on my new favorite products.  My personal consultant can help you with any questions and ordering, her name is Julia, she’s pretty great too.

Perfectly posh has officially made its way into my beauty routine right next to Origins & Neutrogena. I have found my perfect trio of products:)

My Favorite Fringe Bag Just Got Better………

15 Sep

Back in April I wrote a post about my new favorite faux leather fringe bag that I scored for $24.99 from Target.  I still wear it and love it, it’s a creamy color that matches everything and I can beat it up without worrying.   The good news is they still have it at target and they have added a new color, beige. In addition to this beige color they have added a new fringe bag in a beautiful blue suede like material for $29.99.  Perfect bag meets a perfect price!!!!!!

NYFW Rachel Zoe S/S 2013

13 Sep

Rachel Zoe Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

Inspired by the 70’s and Jane Birkin’s androgynous aesthetic, this collection was the epitome of sexy cool.  Effortless glam came to mind over and over.  The palette included beautiful teals, mints as well as neutrals and black & white combos.  The accessories were pretty amazing as well…… I loved the bags, hats and necklaces, very reminiscent of the Halston era, which I love!

NYFW Carolina Herrera S/S 2013

Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

What a pleasant surprise!!!! I must admit I’ve come to expect the same beautiful collections from Carolina Herrera, she has a very easy to identify aesthetic, almost predictable.  This collection, however was not the norm for her.  Was it beautiful as usual? yes!  Was it the same as usual?……not at all!  For a change, this collection included so many fresh and modern pieces in addition to her usual gowns.  The lines were clean, most looks were belted at the waist and there was plenty of color and geometric prints. The embellished collars were pretty amazing too. I am totally impressed…..I know designers can venture out of their fashion box only to find disastrous results, not this time…… well done!

NYFW Vera Wang RTW S/S 2013

Vera Wang Ready to wear Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

With an “out of india” theme, this collection was a hit!  There was a beautiful palette of colors including rich greens, purples and gold. Shapes ranged from structured to fluid and much attention was paid to detail( no shocker, Vera is a perfectionist).  I also loved all the use of chantilly hand pieced lace, so pretty.

NYFW Marc Jacobs S/S 2013

11 Sep

Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2013 collection. I think Jacob’s channelled his inner Tim Burton for this collection.  There was no shortage of boldly patterned pieces with stripes being the main course!!  Every take on a stripe was included, vertical, horizontal, thin, wide etc.  Boxy shapes dominated the modern, yet very 60’s inspired collection.

NYFW Victoria Beckham S/S 2013

Victoria Beckham Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

This former spice girl who was laughed at when she first announced her love for design is a now a force to be reckoned with.  Her only four year old label is fast becoming the show to watch at fashion week.  Beckham’s palette included black, white, beige and punches of a bright orangey/tomato red hue. She remained true to her clean yet sexy aesthetic with her lady like pieces and trademark body-con dresses. This is the best work I’ve seen from Beckham, very nice!

P.S. More knee high sandals!!!!!!!!

NYFW Diane Von Furstenburg S/S 2013

Dian Von Furstenburg Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

The CFDA president’s collection did not disappoint. Her flowy fabrics seemed to float down the runway. With a vibrant palette including coral, lime, teal and violet, the overall feel was glamour meets gypsy. Furstenburg’s prints were quite beautiful as were the metallic touches.

NYFW Alexander Wang S/S 2013

Alexander Wang Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

This collection brought to mind urban street style meets uniformity.  The palette was neutral.  I would have liked to see a touch more color for Spring but Wang is known for his edgy aesthetic and futuristic minimalism, so such simplicity is to be expected. T-shirts and dresses with boxy silhouettes dominated while there was plenty of slashed up leather which Wang called “leather blocking”.  There were also more knee-high sandals which will be a big trend for Fall.
