Tonight is the night people!!!!!! The CFDA Awards AKA The Oscars of fashion are happening tonight at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center! I am SO ROOTING for Alexander Wang in the womenswear and accessories designer of the year categories!!!!!! I am also ecstatic that Vera Wang is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award! For all the nominees and past winners CLICK HERE! Although the awards will take place this evening, they will be digitally broadcast Tuesday June 4 on Style.com. Stay tuned as I will be doing an update on all the night’s winners as well.
Now let’s move on to the good stuff- the reason why Vera Wang deserves the Lifetime achievement award …. her gorgeous masterpieces!

Hello future brides and wedding gown lovers!!!!! The fashion week of weddings also known as Bridal Week has come to a close today in New York. Designers presented their Spring/Summer 2014 collections for the world to see and they were beautiful! Etherial, romantic, sparkly, pretty, intricate and feminine are just a few words to describe to these dreamy dresses. I have been oooohing and aaaahing all weekend long and am excited to share some of the gorgeous gowns with you. Feast your eyes!!!!

This year’s Fall bridal market aka bridal week in New York City, which ran from Oct. 12 to 15 featured collections for Fall 2013. The collections were breathtaking leaving no shortage of bead work, sparkles, tulle, lace, silk organza and DETAIL. Vera Wang Ready to wear Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
With an “out of india” theme, this collection was a hit! There was a beautiful palette of colors including rich greens, purples and gold. Shapes ranged from structured to fluid and much attention was paid to detail( no shocker, Vera is a perfectionist). I also loved all the use of chantilly hand pieced lace, so pretty.

Fall 2012 ad campaigns have arrived! Twice a year(Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter) our favorite fashion houses sum up their collections and ideas with images that are targeted to fashionistas around the world. I usually have a favorite or two but not this time, it was actually a chore narrowing it down to my top five! I think you’ll agree that these are some amazing images…….
Louis Vuitton: Love the enchanting 1920’s “Louis Vuitton express” feel. Shot by Steven Meisel.
Jean Paul Gaultier: Karlie Kloss looks gorgeous in these street inspired ads complete with old scaffolding and graffiti in the background. Shot by Willy Vandeperre.
Vera Wang: Simply beautiful, these ethereal ads literally look like a dream. Shot by Carter Smith.
Edun: I love the creative images of the models as well as the use of a beautiful white owl and butterflies which are all indigenous to Africa where the brand produces most of it’s clothing, supporting local factories. This is the first ever campaign for the brand. Shot by Ryan McGinley.
Mulberry: My absolute favorite! The whimsical ‘where the wild things are’ themed ads are perfection. Shot by Tim Walker.

H&M: I love how simple yet stunning this campaign is, featuring Lana Del Ray the retro vibe is in full swing. Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde.
Today is the day!!! The unveil of Vera Wang’s Spring 2013 Bridal Collection. Aahh the suspense……Are you on the edge of your seat?
Vera did not show one white dress today. Last season nudes and blacks dominated her show ,but today Vera went BOLD really bold and went straight for our hearts with RED , all shades of the beautiful color . Times are changing, brides wear color and Vera is ready to provide it. As much as she sticks to traditional aesthetics of bridal gowns, I admire her willingness to try anything. She definitely brings the WOW factor and is always ahead of the curve. I LOVE IT!

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past 20 years, Vera Wang is all things Bride. She branched off into ready to wear, stationary,home decor,sunglasses and now Makeup:) She masters anything she does so I am looking forward to this line. I must admit I have only been to kohl’s once and it wasn’t for clothes(I found some great picture frames) but I will definitely go back now. This is the 62 year olds first ever makeup line. The 16 piece collection will debut in April and ranges in price from $16.50 to $39.50 and will be sold exclusively at Kohl’s. “Like fashion, makeup is transformational” Wang recently said and I couldn’t agree more.
Random Vera Wang Facts: Vera was a senior fashion editor at Vogue for 17 years. In 1987 Vera left Vogue after being turned down for the editor in chief position currently filled by the infamous Anna Wintour. She worked as design director for Ralph Lauren while hatching a plan to open her own design salon. In 1990 she did just that, opening her first store at the Carlyle Hotel in New York featuring her wedding gowns. They always say when one door closes another one opens….in her case another door FLEW OFF THE HINGES! Hooray for Vera getting turned down and having it lead to what she was really destined to do. So many brides are thankful for that, I was lucky enough to wear 2 magical Vera Wang dresses(I wore a bridesmaid dress for the reception) on my big day and I’ll never forget it. Now we can all wear her everyday with this makeup line!
