Where oh where do I begin with the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer ’15 show? It was by far the most creative show at New York Fashion Week. Beats by Dre headphones were provided for every guest to listen to a summery soundtrack(birdsongs, violins, dogs barking, kids playing) as the models cascaded down the runway. The runway was covered in pink carpet and it wrapped around a pink house no less. Think Barbie pink suburbia! The collection had a heavy military esthetic which totally offset all the pink perfectly, and did I mention some of the dresses had oversized FUNCTIONAL pockets? AKA attached purse on hip!!! Love it!
Does it get better? YES!!!! The kicker of the whole show was that each and every model wore NO MAKEUP!!!! You read that right- The Nars makeup team used moisturizer on the models and nothing more. I think that’s pretty darn cool.

Milan Fashion Week has kicked off with a bang and the Gucci Fall/Winter 2014 collection has set the bar pretty high! Frida Giannini definitely brought it!!!!!! She channeled the “good ol’ Gucci” days with a 60’s/70’s inspired collection that included mod minis and boots galore! There was no lack of pretty pastels and the sharp tailoring we have come to expect from the Italian design house!! I really love this collection!

The layering of this collection was casual chic perfection!! I adore the lace up boots complete with tassells. I also loved the overwhelming presence of the bold burgundy lip! So Fall!

New York fashion week is here!!!!!!!! The fashion fiasco will run through February 13th and will showcase many designer 2014 Fall/Winter collections. These collections will be featured on the runway and in special presentations for buyers, editors and fashion lovers alike. I will be sharing my designer favorites as the week progresses. Today I’m sharing BCBG! I Love the emphasis on lengthy silhouettes with boots and the use of many great textures.

The S/S ’14 Elie Saab collection was very botanical chic with plenty of beautiful color, lace and embellishments! I loved how the collection went from gorgeous garden hues to dark and stormy! It evoked a midsummer night’s dream feeling! So feminine and Pretty pretty pretty!!!!!
Today is the first day of Paris fashion Week!!!! It started in New York followed by London then Milan and now PARIS!!!!! Fashion “month” is a series of 4 fashion weeks held in 4 different fashion capitals of the world. It happens every year, twice a year( once to show Fall/Winter collections and again to show Spring/ Summer collections). I love American designers so New York fashion week is always closest to my heart but I look forward mostly to Paris fashion week…… I mean we are talking about the “motherland” when it comes to fashion. Some of the most iconic fashion houses hail from France! Hello Chanel and Dior!!!!!! HUGE names with huge history will be bringing it on the runway for the next 9 days! and I am so excited!!!!!!!! I’m looking forward to so many shows, it’s bananas!!!!! Oh the anticipation!!!!! Fabulous fashion moments will include Alexander Wang showing his second collection for Balenciaga and Sarah Burton showing the Alexander McQueen collection on an actual runway as opposed to last year’s presentation!
Balmain, Dior, Chanel, Isabel Marant, Louis Vuitton, Celine, Chloe, Givenchy, Kenzo, Mui Mui, Valentino, Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Hermes and more!!!!! OH EM GEEEEE! People if that’s not an amazing lineup, I don’t know what is!!!!!!

NYFW is less than 48 hours away and the parties have already begun!!!!! There are always so many great fashion moments at NYFW and the latest news is that models on Rebecca Minkoff’s New York Fashion Week runway will be strutting their stuff to the live music of Janelle Monae. Monae will sing at Friday’s show at Lincoln Center where Minkoff will be showing her collection for next Spring. There will be a live stream of the show Friday at 3 p.m. EDT. YAY for fashion week!!!!
J. Crew’s classic aesthetic was front and center today at the J.Crew Fall/Winter 2013 presentation! Color and texture was also prevalent- from tweed to wool to cableknit to silk, the mixing of textures, colors and prints was perfectly executed no surprise. The well tailored separates were ga ga-gorgeous as well as the Moroccan prints and pretty splashes of sparkle too. I loved this wearable collection! I fell in love with a jeweled lapel coat on site…..I am literally in love with it!!!!!!! In need it… in addition to all of the bags and footwear!
