My Paris Trip!

I  recently arrived back home to Los angeles from a dream vacation to Paris with my wife. I was so satisfied when the trip ended and I looked back at all that we had done- We did everything on our list and more. As promised, here are just some of our many pictures below. Paris is considered to be a trip of a lifetime for most and it did not disappoint. Bucket list…..Check!

Random travel tips:

*Exchange your money before you go to save a bit on the exchange rate and save time waiting in line at the French airport.

*Learn a few common phrases in French. ‘hello, goodbye, thank you, how much’ etc.

*Get the international data plan your phone carrier offers, it’s worth it. My plan was just $10 a day to use data in France.

*Don’t forget to bring outlet converters (specifically for France) so that you can charge your electronics, including your phone.

*Indulge!!!! Counting calories can be done when you get back home! There is also plenty of walking to offset the overeating you will do! We walked 10-15 miles a day!

Me- right before Nina surprised me with a beautiful band to add to my wedding stack. It was beyond romantic. I will never forget that moment.

Lupita Nyong’o New Face of Lancôme!

I was so excited to hear the news this past weekend that I had to share it with you all. My favorite red carpet queen, Lupita Nyong’o has been named the latest face of Lancôme. The French cosmetic house will feature the gorgeous actress in upcoming ads you can expect to see this September. What an amazing year she is having! Cheers to challenging mainstream beauty ideals and sharing the notion that beauty comes in many forms! Go Lupita!!!!

Marc Jacobs Leaving Louis Vuitton!

Today my friends, marks the end of an era. 16 years after launching ready to wear for Louis Vuitton, Creative Director Marc Jacobs announced his departure from the iconic fashion house after today’s Spring ’14 show in Paris.  Let’s give credit where credit is due!  Louis Vuitton was mostly known for handbags and trunks before Jacobs stepped into the picture.  He literally made louis Vuitton the “fashion” brand that it is today.   I mean, he single handedly reinvented the designer collaboration!!!  Hello Takashi Murakami!!!! I was on a 6 month waiting list for my black rainbow Speedy bag! This really is a sad sad day in fashion:( I absolutely loved how Marc took the reins and ran with them and never looked back or cared what anybody had to say- in turn he helped Louis Vuitton experience their most profitable years to date!  Jacobs will focus on his own fashion lines with his “spare time”.

Paris Fashion Week!! Elie Saab S/S’14!

The S/S ’14 Elie Saab collection was very botanical chic with plenty of beautiful color, lace and embellishments!  I loved  how the collection went from gorgeous garden hues to dark and stormy! It evoked a midsummer night’s dream feeling!  So feminine and Pretty pretty pretty!!!!!

Paris Fashion Week Is HERE!!!!!!

Today is the first day of Paris fashion Week!!!!  It started in New York followed by London then Milan and now PARIS!!!!!  Fashion “month” is a series of 4 fashion weeks held in 4 different fashion capitals of the world.  It happens every year, twice a year( once to show Fall/Winter collections and again to show Spring/ Summer collections).  I love American designers so New York fashion week is always closest to my heart but I look forward mostly to Paris fashion week…… I mean we are talking about the “motherland” when it comes to fashion. Some of the most iconic fashion houses hail from France! Hello Chanel and Dior!!!!!! HUGE names with huge history will be bringing it on the runway for the next 9 days! and I am so excited!!!!!!!! I’m looking forward to so many shows, it’s bananas!!!!!  Oh the anticipation!!!!!  Fabulous fashion moments will include Alexander Wang showing his second collection for Balenciaga and Sarah Burton showing the Alexander McQueen collection on an actual runway as opposed to last year’s presentation!

Balmain, Dior, Chanel, Isabel Marant, Louis Vuitton, Celine, Chloe, Givenchy, Kenzo, Mui Mui, Valentino, Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Hermes and more!!!!! OH EM GEEEEE!  People if that’s not an amazing lineup, I don’t know what is!!!!!!

Paris Couture Fashion Week 2013

With Paris couture fashion week coming to an end today, I must admit I feel like I’ve watched a fairy tale unfold before my eyes.  This particular fashion week which solely concentrates on haute couture pieces from fashion designers around the world, is my favorite of all fashion weeks.  I look forward to the opulent, magical, detailed pieces that come down those Parisian runways.  These are the most beautiful creations in the fashion industry all in one place; all in one week (4 days technically).  The craftsmanship is absolutely impeccable as the designers pull out all the stops to see their “dream” creations come to light.  One of these dresses can take over 2,000 hours of work to create. While many designers showcased their collections, I had four favorites- Valentino, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli and Zuhair Murad.  These designers lived up to my ultimate fashion dreams of Paris couture fashion week!  Just beautiful!!!!!

Meet Pierre, Balmain’s Debut Bag

Balmain is known for their endless embellishments and overall rock ‘n’ roll vibe, but when Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing teamed up with jeweler Aurélie Bidermann, the pair created a calm classy carryall…… Introducing Pierre, Balmain’s debut handbag  named after the famed founder of the french fashion house.  Made of suede and available in either grey, cherry, or natural, Pierre  comes complete with an ivory leather interior and is adorned with a faux ivory tooth for a bit of edge.  Just like Balmain clothing, Pierre won’t be easy to acquire. The bag comes with a hefty $4,350 price tag and will be exclusively available at Barneys New York, Harrods and the Balmain Paris store.

Victoria Beckham Stars In Photoshoot At Coco Chanel’s Home

Here are some photos from Victoria Beckham’s photo shoot for Elle France .  The shoot took place back in July and will be featured in an upcoming issue of  the magazine.  Wearing her own designs, she was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld at 31 Rue Cambon, the home of Coco Chanel (in Paris).

Fashion’s Night Out Was A Hit!

The global fashion party known as fashion’s night out celebrated its fourth year last night. From Los Angeles to New york to Milan fashionistas, retailers and designers came together for the festivities.  Besides shopping and socializing, crowds were treated to fashion shows, performances and parades.  I celebrated in Los Angeles at the Beverly Center and the “lil Melrose” area of West Hollywood and had an absolute blast! Here are some pictures from the night.

 

 

 

Let’s just start by saying my feet were killing me by the end of the night but it was so worth it.  I also keep getting questions about the dress. I was obsessed with this dress when I saw SJP wearing it on the Elle Jan 2011 coverapparently I wasn’t the only one interested as the dress sold out FAST!  I told my favorite Saks girl to keep an eye out for me and sure enough a dress in my size was found about 6 months later!!!!!!!!!  So that’s the story of the dress….

I had to embrace this white paper wristband, it was my ticket into the nights events, even though it completely clashed with my ensemble.
