Glamping Getaway!

29 Aug

This weekend My wife and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary at the coolest glamping spot ever. We have glamped before in airstreams etc. but nothing tops this place. It’s located deep into Topanga canyon near Malibu. It is in a secluded, peaceful canyon and it is amazing. The place is owned by a women that lives in a house nearby and she’s super artistic and has created some of the most beautiful “campsites” I’ve ever seen. We stayed in the upper area called ‘Silver sky acres’. That area includes a huge outdoor deck with Barbecue, 3 outdoor comfy couches, a fire pit, a bench with umbrella and the use of 2 trailers. One of the trailers is a kitchen area with table and chairs inside as well as a couch. The other trailer includes the living room with couch and coffee table, a bedroom area and an area with a small table and chairs. Both trailers have no electricity, but there are plugs to charge your phones and wi-fi as well. There is an outdoor bathroom and shower(with warm water) as well. I got flooded with questions about this place, so here is the info. I advise you to BOOK IN ADVANCE. It fills up insanely quick.

Sidenote: I’ve never stayed at an Airbnb before, but my friend Olivia told me about this place and now I’m a fan of Airbnb for sure!!!! I can’t wait to go back to Silver sky acres!

The host also has 2 dogs that live in on the property, so that was nice to have furry friends around:)

Price.

For the area that we stayed in called ‘Silver Sky Acres‘  it was $125 per night plus a $45 cleaning fee. The area below called “The totem terrace”which is much larger and “fancier” was $400 per night. We didn’t rent that area but the host let us hang out down there too:) There is also an area called”she’s a beauty” that is located above where we stayed that is $125 per night.

Metallics and Stripes!

10 Aug

This weekend’s weather is typical for August in Los Angeles-sunny and bright. Warm weather calls for dresses around these parts, so my outfit of the day included the cutest striped dress(with pockets) and rose gold accessories. My makeup was peachy pink minimal and  my hair was up with braided detail in a low bun.  My statement necklace was balanced out with bangles on one wrist and dainty rings.

Leopard and Oxblood!

28 Oct

Today’s outfit of the day(actually last Friday’s) is one of my go-to Fall looks- skinny jeans worn with a blazer & cute top and sexy heels. In this case I wore a peplum top and my favorite strappy oxblood heels!  This outfit is of course a high-low mashup because I just don’t like it any other way!  Although I love my designer duds, It is a RARE occasion that I wear 100% designer because I love to mix it up! I almost always have something from Target, H&M or Forever21 in my ensembles.  I’m also quite aware that many fashionistas are on budgets and I really love knowing that my readers can always afford something from my OOTD posts!

I added a link below for the shoes as I always get flooded with questions about where to purchase them.  All other items that are currently available have links as well.

Have a great Monday- Journey.

Fashion’s Night Out Was A Hit!

7 Sep

The global fashion party known as fashion’s night out celebrated its fourth year last night. From Los Angeles to New york to Milan fashionistas, retailers and designers came together for the festivities.  Besides shopping and socializing, crowds were treated to fashion shows, performances and parades.  I celebrated in Los Angeles at the Beverly Center and the “lil Melrose” area of West Hollywood and had an absolute blast! Here are some pictures from the night.

Let’s just start by saying my feet were killing me by the end of the night but it was so worth it.  I also keep getting questions about the dress. I was obsessed with this dress when I saw SJP wearing it on the Elle Jan 2011 coverapparently I wasn’t the only one interested as the dress sold out FAST!  I told my favorite Saks girl to keep an eye out for me and sure enough a dress in my size was found about 6 months later!!!!!!!!!  So that’s the story of the dress….

Outfit details:

I had to embrace this white paper wristband, it was my ticket into the nights events, even though it completely clashed with my ensemble.

Draped silk dress, Halston Heritage. Skull box clutch, Alexander McQueen. Patent leather platform pumps, Christian Louboutin. Earrings, Le fashion truck. Bamboo bangles, Gucci. Black faceted jewel cutout cuff, Gojane.

Fashion’s Night Out around the globe

Until next year………..

23 Aug

Fashion’s Night Out celebrates 4 years!!!!  This September 6th join editors, bloggers, stars, models and fashionistas at the worldwide fashion party known as fashion’s night out.  FNO is an unprecedented global initiative that was created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy during the recession, and put the fun back in shopping!  In the United States, the program is a collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York.  With special limited-edition products, Sales, celebrity appearances, and unforgettable performances this FNO is going to be the best one yet!  Last years bash featured events in 18 countries with more than 4,500 events in the U.S. alone.  Some of the largest events will be taking place in NYC and LA.  NYC will be also kicking off New York Fashion Week on the 6th as well…..so if you’re in the New york area, take full advantage.  I will be celebrating in the Los Angeles/ Beverly Hills area  for my 4th year now. Last year I stopped by Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang and Alexander McQueen on Melrose in LA, then was off to Beverly Hills where the streets were literally shut down( complete with food trucks and a ferris wheel) and stopped by Saks, Valentino, Louis Vuitton and Chanel. I had the best time and am very excited to do it all over again!   Where will you be on September 6th?
