Hi everyone!!!! It’s Instagram roundup time again!!!! To check out more pictures follow me on Instagram @yourstylejourney. Have a great weekend! – Journey
Today my friends, marks the end of an era. 16 years after launching ready to wear for Louis Vuitton, Creative Director Marc Jacobs announced his departure from the iconic fashion house after today’s Spring ’14 show in Paris. Let’s give credit where credit is due! Louis Vuitton was mostly known for handbags and trunks before Jacobs stepped into the picture. He literally made louis Vuitton the “fashion” brand that it is today. I mean, he single handedly reinvented the designer collaboration!!! Hello Takashi Murakami!!!! I was on a 6 month waiting list for my black rainbow Speedy bag! This really is a sad sad day in fashion:( I absolutely loved how Marc took the reins and ran with them and never looked back or cared what anybody had to say- in turn he helped Louis Vuitton experience their most profitable years to date! Jacobs will focus on his own fashion lines with his “spare time”.
Bravo Marc!!!!! You were ALL THAT and then some!

Louis Vuitton Spring’14 show. The final walk!
Today is the first day of Paris fashion Week!!!! It started in New York followed by London then Milan and now PARIS!!!!! Fashion “month” is a series of 4 fashion weeks held in 4 different fashion capitals of the world. It happens every year, twice a year( once to show Fall/Winter collections and again to show Spring/ Summer collections). I love American designers so New York fashion week is always closest to my heart but I look forward mostly to Paris fashion week…… I mean we are talking about the “motherland” when it comes to fashion. Some of the most iconic fashion houses hail from France! Hello Chanel and Dior!!!!!! HUGE names with huge history will be bringing it on the runway for the next 9 days! and I am so excited!!!!!!!! I’m looking forward to so many shows, it’s bananas!!!!! Oh the anticipation!!!!! Fabulous fashion moments will include Alexander Wang showing his second collection for Balenciaga and Sarah Burton showing the Alexander McQueen collection on an actual runway as opposed to last year’s presentation!
Balmain, Dior, Chanel, Isabel Marant, Louis Vuitton, Celine, Chloe, Givenchy, Kenzo, Mui Mui, Valentino, Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Hermes and more!!!!! OH EM GEEEEE! People if that’s not an amazing lineup, I don’t know what is!!!!!!
Last year’s unforgettable Louis Vuitton S/S’13 escalator moment!
Louis Vuitton has teamed up with Yayoi Kusama, a spunky 83-year-old Japanese artist known as the polka dot princess. Kusama is highly respected as being a voice for the avant-garde. Her art is so sought after that in 2008 Christies New york sold a piece by her for $5.1 million, a record for a living female artist. Her polka-dotted collection named infinitely Kusama will appear on handbags, clothing and accessories this Summer (July 10th), so be ready to channel your inner Minnie Mouse!
The fashion industry has been buzzing about this collaboration for some time, and now the French fashion house has released some photos of the collaborative collection.
Kusama’s work will also be featured in an exhibit at the Whitney Museum in New York July 12th through September 30,2012. For more information click HERE.

The title reads right, I think if there should be at least 1 handbag every woman owns it would be a top handled structured bag with it’s classic silhouette. The practical shape is so timeless that you can go with a wild print or keep it simple and it will remain on trend for as long as you own it. I’m a handbag addict and I still go back to my top handle structured bags time and time again. Wear with anything from jeans to dresses and it will never look out of place. Shop my favorite splurges and steals. YSL navy & beige bag($1,995) available at Nordstrom.
