NYFW Prabal Gurung F/W 2013!

Prabal Gurung is a busy man as of late, his (love) Target collection launches in stores and online tomorrow and he presented his F/W 2013 collection in New York today.  The militant aesthetic consisted of strong, polished looks.  Leather belts and harnesses were everywhere and peplum was prevalent, proving indeed it is here to stay. The palette of rich navy blues, army greens and crimson were just beautiful. The gold hardware was impeccable and was carried from the clothes to the shoes – all custom-made by  Cesare Casadei!  WOW! Great strong empowering collection today, and I’m very excited to shop the frilly feminine collection tomorrow at Target!

NYFW Jason Wu F/W 2013

Not even a blizzard could stop Jason Wu  from filling up a beautiful Park Avenue venue to present his Fall 2013 collection Friday. Despite weather worries, a full house of spectators gazed in awe at one of the most anticipated collections of New York fashion week.  There was an essence of elegance and glamour and the clothes were sexy and sophisticated.  The mostly black a white palette included crisp collars, belted waists and pleated skirts !  I especially loved the makeup led by Lancome’s Diane Kendal, who created beautiful looks consisting of  bold indigo cat eyes with muted lips and cheeks.  This show was pretty amazing, nothing new for Mr. Wu!

New York Fashion week is here!!!!

New york fashion week is in full swing in and around Lincoln Center!!!! With over 80 designers showcasing their Fall/Winter 2013 collections over 8 days….. the semi-annual event(February & September) is the biggest event in the American fashion industry!  I look forward to so many shows and will be sharing my favorite looks with you all.  Let’s do this!!!!!!!

Paris Couture Fashion Week 2013

With Paris couture fashion week coming to an end today, I must admit I feel like I’ve watched a fairy tale unfold before my eyes.  This particular fashion week which solely concentrates on haute couture pieces from fashion designers around the world, is my favorite of all fashion weeks.  I look forward to the opulent, magical, detailed pieces that come down those Parisian runways.  These are the most beautiful creations in the fashion industry all in one place; all in one week (4 days technically).  The craftsmanship is absolutely impeccable as the designers pull out all the stops to see their “dream” creations come to light.  One of these dresses can take over 2,000 hours of work to create. While many designers showcased their collections, I had four favorites- Valentino, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli and Zuhair Murad.  These designers lived up to my ultimate fashion dreams of Paris couture fashion week!  Just beautiful!!!!!

Prabal Gurung for Target!

The time has come……another Target designer collaboration is upon us! We’ve known about this one for a while but now we have pictures to drool over!  Let me start by saying this one will BE BIG…..Missoni big!  The collection is very wallet friendly ($14.99 for earrings–$199 for a leather jacket) and the pieces are super cute with a feminine aesthetic that includes a palette of bright colors, florals and some color blocking.  Although the collection is launching mid Winter, it is oh -so Spring!!!! There are pieces for everyone including separates, dresses, shoes and accessories. Mark your calendars now, seriously!  February 10th is the day this 80+ piece collection will hit your local Target stores!

Jennifer Lawrence Stuns in Prabal Gurung Dress!

Jennifer Lawrence looked amazing in a black draped gown from Prabal Gurung’s pre-fall 2013 collection at the 2013 Critic’s Choice Awards. WOW WOW WOW!  I love the neckline of this belted dress and her makeup & side-swept updo are gorgeous!  Her red lips and nails were icing on the cake!  Lawrence accessorized with a Roger Vivier bag, Chopard jewelry, and Jimmy Choo heels.

Outfit Of The Day!

Hi everyone, here is another OOTD post as promised!

I can’t get enough of this dress-it’s perfect for sunny December days that are slightly chilly (weird CA weather).  The boots are also my go to Fall/Winter flat boot.  I wear them with dresses and pants and they are super comfy and the perfect shade of brown.  Lastly the bag is sooooooo cute, and it gets mistaken for Chanel almost every time I leave the house with it!

Best Dressed 2012!

Another year has come and gone and fashion’s elite have made their mark, some great and some not so great!  Celebrities and socialites have paraded their ensembles for us to swoon over and have sent us to the mall on numerous occasions trying to replicate what we’ve seen.  At the end of the year, I usually can narrow it down to my top 5 fashion crushes, not this time…..  This year  7 fashionistas are deserving of this honor!

What does it take to make my best dressed list?  Being original, confident, fashion forward and rockin’ your own style throughout every season and looking great while doing it!

Oversized Knit!

Just came across this oversized sweater on Pinterest and it reminded me of how much of a wardrobe staple oversized knits are during these cooler months!  Wear them with skinny jeans or leggings and tucked into boots or with flats, CUTE!
