Where will You Be On Fashion’s Night out?

23 Aug

Fashion’s Night Out celebrates 4 years!!!!  This September 6th join editors, bloggers, stars, models and fashionistas at the worldwide fashion party known as fashion’s night out.  FNO is an unprecedented global initiative that was created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy during the recession, and put the fun back in shopping!  In the United States, the program is a collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York.  With special limited-edition products, Sales, celebrity appearances, and unforgettable performances this FNO is going to be the best one yet!  Last years bash featured events in 18 countries with more than 4,500 events in the U.S. alone.  Some of the largest events will be taking place in NYC and LA.  NYC will be also kicking off New York Fashion Week on the 6th as well…..so if you’re in the New york area, take full advantage.  I will be celebrating in the Los Angeles/ Beverly Hills area  for my 4th year now. Last year I stopped by Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang and Alexander McQueen on Melrose in LA, then was off to Beverly Hills where the streets were literally shut down( complete with food trucks and a ferris wheel) and stopped by Saks, Valentino, Louis Vuitton and Chanel. I had the best time and am very excited to do it all over again!   Where will you be on September 6th?

Official FNO hours. Thursday september 6,2012. 6pm-11pm

Summer Style Spotting!

26 Jul

From L.A. to St. Tropez and everywhere in between, these looks have got me in the mood to shop!

Street Style Tip:  The sidewalk is your runway, treat it as such!

Dare:  I dare you to wear a color you’ve never worn before ….Pink, purple, red, neon, orange, green etc!  Scared of color or on a budget?  Nail polish totally counts!

Below are  images that represent Summertime fashion at its best…..tons of color, neon, different textures, comfort, great prints, denim, just enough skin exposed, great accessories and confidence!!!!!!

Chanel Couture Goes Vintage!

5 Jul

Entitled New vintage, Chanel’s Couture F/W 2012-13 show certainly had a retro feel.  The  nostalgic collection included many soft  pinks and greys in addition to some black and creams , very Jackie-O . The french fashion house was sure to include trademark boucle’ jackets and sparkly tweed pieces as well.  Overall, I really loved the femininity of the collection.  Here are some looks from the runway.

Dior’s Raf Simons Silences Critics with Debut!

2 Jul

Christian Dior’s show has been the talk of Paris couture week.  New designer Raf Simons’s debut at the fashion house came with speculation.  Would he live up to the iconic brand’s name?  The spectacular flower filled show took place at a grand residence near the Arc de tromphe.  There was an overwhelming support from Simons’s peers. Fellow designers Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Donatella Versace, Alber Elbaz and Christopher Kane among others were in attendance proving that Simons is highly respected among fashions elite.  After John Galliano’s sudden and quite scandalous departure  from Dior early last year, all eyes were on Simons and today he proved he is ready…..he did not disappoint, he triumphed!

Homecoming for Versace

1 Jul

An emotional Donatella Versace took Atelier Versace couture back to the Ritz hotel in Paris today.  This was the last place she saw her late brother Gianni.  In 1997 Gianni staged his last show at the Ritz just two days before he was murdered on the steps outside of his Miami home. The highly anticipated F/W 2012-2013 collection remained true to the typical Versace aesthetic, silhouettes that celebrate the female form.  Billowing chiffon, corseted bodices and metallics were bold, bright & beautiful.

Celebrities filled the audience.
