Prabal Gurung Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
This collection was full of silks, feathers, fitted jackets and embroidered pieces. The palette was black, white and grey with shades of red here and there. The show took place in a steamy warehouse on Pier 59, it was like a futuristic fairytale of sorts.

Joseph Altuzarra’s Spring/Summer 2013 Collection, Altuzarra, explored casual blue cotton, tassels and prints. As usual there were plenty of perfectly constructed jackets, something Joseph has become known for. I loved the sleek hair and knee-high gladiator sandals as well.
Monique Lhuillier’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
Known for her usual white and ivory wedding gowns, Lhuillier made great use of teals, blues and fuchsias, in what seemed to be an ocean inspired collection. With only a few separates,her main focus was dresses, very beautiful dresses!

WOW!!!!!!! Christian Siriano presented his Spring Summer 2013 collection and it was PRETTY! I loved how feminine the pieces were and the use of pastels was perfect. I am also a huge fan of the loose ballerina buns that the models wore, that is my go to hairstyle for Spring and Summer. The use of feminine oxfords in addition to heels was a nice change of scenery during NYFW as well. Just when I though the collection couldn’t get any prettier, out came some of the most beautiful dresses and gowns I have ever seen -many of which had incredibly intricate pearl embellishments and details one could only dream of! I envisioned my wedding day all over again, stunning! I absolutely loved this collection! Still catching my breath!

Cap toe heels were spotted everywhere this Summer, and the trend is moving along right into Fall. This style is called “cap toe” for the piece of material that covers just the toe of the shoe. Not only have they been spotted on major runways- Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo and Yves Saint Laurent but celebrities have gone cap toe crazy as well. Cap toe styles are sleek and chic and can be worn with most anything from dresses to pants. Not a heel girl?????? No problem! This trend works no matter what shoe style you prefer. The cap toe translates well from heels to flats.

There was the usual crepe and body-con band dresses that we have come to expect BUT most of them were shown with high contrast leather harnesses for a twist, carrying the hard and soft theme throughout the show, which I thought was pretty cool. This collection was inspired by Helmut Newton’s photography as was Jason Wu’s. View the entire collection here.

I love pastels and adore wearing light and fun colors all Spring and Summer long. This past Spring/Summer was no different I wore pastels like crazy but I wore the hell out of MINT!!!!!!! I LOVE ALL THINGS MINT! I really had a love affair with the robin’s egg hue! Now that Summer is coming to an end…..I am sad to say goodbye to my beloved mint pieces as I move on and embrace my “darker” side for Fall/Winter. I’m not saying I’ll be totally mintless…..there are days where I will wear it I’m sure……….but I won’t be wearing mint whenever possible like I have for the last 6 months.
Mint…..I will always love you and perhaps next Spring we will pick up where we left off.

Eyeliner is a definite must have product, waking your face up and instantly making your eyes POP! One swoop of colored liner brings a WOW factor to your eyes!
