In this whole fashion and blogging world, opinions and commentary can sometimes come across as plain old MEAN, not to mention hurtful! I was reading a fellow blog today and came across some of the unnecessarily rude comments and they were all from women directed toward other women. I’m all for constructive criticism and giving your point of view on an outfit, idea, hairstyle etc. however it saddens me to see such a lack of respect and decency for one another. I have never encountered any such problems on this blog and I’m grateful for that, but I recognize that it’s a recurring problem and think it needs to stop. Ladies, think before you type! Remember that there is an actual human being on the receiving end of everything you write. Today I decided to take a pledge…..a pledge to respect my fellow fashionista and anyone for that matter. Hopefully you’ll take the pledge too.

The amazingly talented indie design duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte announced that they have collaborated with mega-coffee chain Starbucks. This means everyone can buy a little piece of Rodarte without breaking the bank! The collaboration will include four limited-edition items that are set to go on sale at select Starbucks locations and online November 13th, 2012. A modern pixelated checkerboard print that is aimed to appeal to both men and women will be featured on a tumbler ($13.95), reusable cup sleeve ($5.45), tote bag ($13.95) and a limited-edition gift card as well. For the design duo, it’s a chance to put their name — and their edgy conceptual style — out to a new audience. Their designs are not exactly in line with mass-market taste. “Our clothing is specialized,” Laura Mulleavy recently said in an interview “and when we are thinking of Rodarte, we choose things that say who we are as designers, but we’re not limited to that. We like the idea of collaborations and putting our thought process somewhere else.”

Rebecca Minkoff will be opening a freestanding boutique in NYC. Last March the stylish designer opened a 3,000 square foot flagship store in Tokyo, but this will be the brand’s first on American soil. The soho shop will feature her amazing accessories, clothes and more and will take over the space currently occupied by Kirna Zabete as they will be moving to a larger location. I’ve always liked the Alexander Wang Rocco bag, a buttery soft bag with studs on the bottom for a little bit of edge. I first spotted the bag on Kristin Cavallari a few years back and have since seen them everywhere. I really liked how there were different color options for the studs like gold, black nickel, silver etc. I just didn’t find that it “spoke” to my heart which is a must when you’re spending a pretty penny……UNTIL NOW……I just about DIED recently when I saw this bag in person with rose gold hardware! It was speaking to me then!!!!!!!! It is a beauty for sure with just enough super shiny rose studs gold against the soft black pebbled leather and two rolled top handles and a shoulder strap make the bag versatile and easy to wear.
