The Must Have Convertible Bag!

Rebecca Minkoff has long had an amazing accessories collection!  Her Original MAC (morning after clutch) has been a HIT among fashionistas worldwide. The great thing about the bag is that it can be worn three ways…with a single long strap for cross body wear, with the strap doubled for shoulder wear or with the strap removed completely for wear as a clutch.  Soon after the original bag was flying off shelves the designer added a mini size to the collection and New this Fall, Minkoff added her latest installment of the collection, The MAC daddy bag, which is the biggest of all three bags and comes complete with a padded inner pocket to hold an iPad or tablet!  They come in practically every color of the rainbow and the hardware ranges from silver to rose gold to gun-metal and more. Proenza Schouler’s New Lust Worthy Bag

‘Bag ladies’ all know and love the PS1 bag by Proenza Schouler, well now it’s time for you to meet the PS1’s big sister…..the PS13 from their resort’13 collection!  Although the bags are totally different in design, they accomplish the same goal- a casually chic feel of understated elegance.  A bag like this only comes around once in a while.  Think about it, most designer bags appear to be designer bags while Proenza Schouler has mastered the “normal” extraordinary everyday bag that you can get away with wearing to the grocery store without looking silly.  I love how the top handles are sturdy and you have the option to wear as a shoulder bag also. The front flap pocket and backside zip pockets are great as well….. accessing keys, gum or a cell phone without going into the main bag is always a plus.  I must admit I will always be loyal to the PS1, but this new bag is pretty amazing as well.

Cute & Clever Book Clutches! (including DIY)

I keep seeing these Olympia Le-Tan book clutches everywhere, they are so cute and quite clever!  Kate Spade also has some of her own as well as Chanel. The Olympia Le-Tan version will set you back $1,000-$1,900 and the Kate Spade version rings in at $325. If you’re on a budget have NO FEAR you can do it yourself for about $15!!!!!!!  I found this easy tutorial below and I am going to do it!!!!!!  I will post pictures when I do:)  Will you be joining the clutch book club?

Baroque Trend! Do You Dare?

Ok ok I’m breaking from my Spring/Summer 2013 NYFW coverage to talk about this trend that is HOT right now for Fall!  The question is…..will you wear it?  I may try it but I’m a bit scared. The baroque style brings so many things to mind……17th century, opulence, luxury, royalty, gold, DRAMA!  With plenty of elaborate details and wild ornamentation this trend can seem difficult to pull off, I think the right person CAN though. Like any fashion lover I would DIE for a Balmain jacket, but that may be the only baroque piece I would wear or is it?????  Hmmmmmm, While I’m not completely closed off to the notion, I’d just have to find the right piece, something that speaks to my heart. A jacket or a clutch???? Maybe a T? or Jeans?

I Love My Hansel From Basel Tights!

Skaist Taylor

Skaist Taylor is building a following…….fast!  The “California eccentric” collection brought to us by the LA based designers who gave us Juicy Couture in 1996, is making major fashion waves.  The team has since sold Juicy Couture to Liz Claiborne Corp. and have dived right into the Skaist Taylor line.  Pamela Skaist- Levy and Gela Nash- Taylor launched the boho- chic line during new York Fashion Week this past Spring to rave reviews.  Don’t worry there will be no tracksuits this time around!  Remember wearing those everywhere??????  I admit I must have a dozen tracksuits lying around and still wear them to lounge in the house, I was a bonified “Juicy” girl…. But there comes a time for every fashion “moment” to move on though and this is that time for Pamela & Gela!
