Week two of the month-long fashion frenzy around the globe is wrapping up and I have some favorites to share.
I was asked to explain fashion week by quite a few people, so here it goes…….Fashion “month” occurs twice a year and is a showcase of designers Spring/Summer collections and Fall/Winter collections. These collections are shown in advance giving buyers time to fill orders and stock up just in time for the season. For example, right now it’s Fall and the designers are showing their upcoming Spring/Summer collection, and during Spring, designers showcase their fall/winter collections. Notice I said fashion MONTH earlier- that is because fashion week takes place over four consecutive weeks in four different countries, totaling a month of FUN! Is there an order? YES fashion week starts in New york, then jumps across the pond to London, followed by Milan and ending in Paris! There you have it fashion week/month summed up.
There are also other smaller scale fashion weeks across the globe, but the four countries listed are the main players in the fashion game!
Let’s get to my London fashion week faves!
Colorful catwalks and plenty of prints at Burberry and House of Holland. Glittery Glam rock at Tom Ford.
Sporty 60’s with a nautical twist at Topshop.
Three words: Altuzarra. Target. Tonight!
The designer collaboration with Target goes on sale online tonight at midnight and in stores tomorrow! I am beyond obsessed with the accessories in this collection and can’t wait to check it out in person!
Below are my FAVORITE pieces!!!! AAAmazing!!!! Did I mention that the entire collection is under $100?- including boots and jackets people!!!!!!!

Where oh where do I begin with the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer ’15 show? It was by far the most creative show at New York Fashion Week. Beats by Dre headphones were provided for every guest to listen to a summery soundtrack(birdsongs, violins, dogs barking, kids playing) as the models cascaded down the runway. The runway was covered in pink carpet and it wrapped around a pink house no less. Think Barbie pink suburbia! The collection had a heavy military esthetic which totally offset all the pink perfectly, and did I mention some of the dresses had oversized FUNCTIONAL pockets? AKA attached purse on hip!!! Love it! Does it get better? YES!!!! The kicker of the whole show was that each and every model wore NO MAKEUP!!!! You read that right- The Nars makeup team used moisturizer on the models and nothing more. I think that’s pretty darn cool.
New York Fashion week is half way over and I’ve selected my favorite looks thus far. It wasn’t easy to narrow down, but I did it!!!!!
BCBG- Bows and flows. So ethereal and heavenly!
Diane Von Furstenberg- Flirty and feminine with a wonderful surprise(Naomi campbell graced us with her presence) AMAZING!
Rebecca Minkoff- I couldn’t get enough of the fabulous fringe bags!
Naeem Khan- Absolutely stunning lace & beadwork as usual! I’m in awe at his take on the traditional long sleeved baseball T!!!! I want to wear that with some distressed denim right NOW!
J. Crew- I always look forward to the shoes at the j. Crew presentation. They didn’t disappoint!
Monique Lhuillier- Ammmmaaaaaaazing! Details like no other- intricate beadwork throughout the entire collection. Simlpy stunning!
I love makeup and a great bargain just as much as the next girl. So it should be no surprise that I’ve been head over heels for NYX for a couple of years now! NYX has great formulas and even better prices. I have many NYX products, but have a trio that I rarely stray away from. Matte bronzer, the curve eyeliner and butter gloss lip color. These products are all under $15 and are amazing!!!!!!!
The Curve Eyeliner: This felt tip liner is so precise and you can choose a thick or thin application depending on how you hold the product- really cool for a shaky handed girl like myself.
Butter Gloss: This formula is amazingly smooth- so similar to the much higher priced NARS lip gloss that I haven’t purchased since discovering butter gloss.
Matte Bronzer: I am a big fan of highlight and contouring and prefer matte bronzer. This is NOT orangey like many bronzers can be and it goes on perfectly!
Whether it’s for school, work, or your desk at home- great stationary can quickly liven up a space and quite frankly it can make you happy! I have been collecting cute stationary for some time now and am sharing my faves with you today :) I’m not a basic stationary kind of girl, so of course I’m partial to pink, polka dots glitter!
Some of my favorite stationary right now! Can you say CA-UTE!!!!! Click links below to shop these cuties!
