28 OctGrace Coddington is one of the original players in this fashion game, fashionistas all over the world admire and respect the style icon and are anticipating the upcoming release of her memoir Grace: A Memoir . If you’re expecting a juicy tell all, you will be disappointed. “I’m not telling secret stories” Coddington said “not writing ugly things to get back at anyone. This book’s not gossipy”. The 71-year-old creative director of American Vogue took the high road on this one choosing to keep the gist of the book quite positive and that is very refreshing in such a cut throat industry. The book will be based from her lifelong diaries and will include a few of her own hand drawn illustrations as well. Set for release on November 20th 2012 , the book is available at Amazon.

Sheer Genius!
13 OctI tried Almost Lipstick by Clinique today and I love it! I have always been a fan of tinted lip balms and stains because for day-to-day use I want moisture more than anything else, but a touch of color is nice. Almost Lipstick is perfect for all day wear it’s a moisturizing semi gloss, ultra-light lipstick. Not quite a gloss, and not quite a lipstick, it’s formula looks great alone yet it’s sheer enough for easy layering. Available in 8 shades ($15) at clinique counters and online at Clinique.
I tried the black honey and it’s a very light plum color, although it looks dark in the tube. The colors are all very light and sheer.

‘Pass The Love’ Pledge
11 OctIn this whole fashion and blogging world, opinions and commentary can sometimes come across as plain old MEAN, not to mention hurtful! I was reading a fellow blog today and came across some of the unnecessarily rude comments and they were all from women directed toward other women. I’m all for constructive criticism and giving your point of view on an outfit, idea, hairstyle etc. however it saddens me to see such a lack of respect and decency for one another. I have never encountered any such problems on this blog and I’m grateful for that, but I recognize that it’s a recurring problem and think it needs to stop. Ladies, think before you type! Remember that there is an actual human being on the receiving end of everything you write. Today I decided to take a pledge…..a pledge to respect my fellow fashionista and anyone for that matter. Hopefully you’ll take the pledge too.
