Look for Less! Cute & Comfy Panties!

20 Aug

Every woman loves a pair of cute and comfortable panties and it’s an added bonus when they don’t break the bank. I have always loved all lace thongs because let’s face it-some thongs can be uncomfortable when they should feel like they’re barely there. The material plays a big part in it, soft lace accomplishes the comfort goal, that’s for sure. I found the perfect lace thong many years ago at Nordstrom. The brand is called Hanky Panky- they come in a variety of colors and fit like a glove. The only drawback is that they’re $18-$25 EACH! Even if you can afford that price, they can still add up quickly when you’re stocking up. And for a lot of women on a budget, they can’t afford that price at all. That is where my look for less comes into play- I discovered the cutest, comfortable and AFFORDABLE lace thong panties at Target.  They come in 9 different colors and fit the same as Hanky Panky, but the price is unbelievable! Even At full price they are only $5 each, but you can catch them on sale a few times a year for $20 for 5 pairs or even $24 for 7 pairs. They are currently $20 for 5, which is $4 a pair. I highly suggest you stock up now! At this price, you really can buy every color!

Another bonus for the Target panties is that they come in sizes XS-XL.

Your Razor’s New Best Friend!

25 Oct

I have been using, and loving Yorz razor wraps for the last two weeks. In my home, my wife and I use 4 razors at a time(2 each). To avoid mix-ups, we literally have to write our initials on the handle of the razors with a black sharpie marker. I am happy to say that writing our initials on the handle is now a thing of the past. With Yorz razor wraps, we choose our own colors and there is no more confusion.  The soft  silicone wraps come in 7 colors and are super comfortable to hold, which leads me to my next thought. No more nicks!!! I’ve cut myself so many times when the razor has slipped out of my soapy hand in the past. These wraps are so handy, they even have a soft hooked end that can hang on most shower caddies, letting excess water drip off keeping your razor dry and extending the life of the blades. Nobody likes a wet, rusty razor. These are so perfect for households that have people sharing showers- College dorms, roommate situations, families etc. With these wraps, you will never wonder which razor is YORZ again.

Yorz Razor wraps fit any disposable razor with a straight handle and retail for $4.99 each or $11.99 for a 3 pack.

Fall Nail Color Favorites!

21 Nov

I love beautiful rich dark shades for fall and winter and thought I’d share my favorites colors with you.  They are both by Essie, but most polish companies make these shades or similar shades. I do favor Essie when it comes to darker shades because their formulas are super thick and don’t streak.

Stylenomics is a deep green shade.

Gallery Wall Success!

24 Aug

Gallery walls are having a major moment right now. Gallery walls are basically an arranged artistic display of things that matter to you most including mirrors, pictures, arts & crafts, frames, Initials etc. There are really no rules when it comes to a well hung gallery wall, it’s really all about what you think works for your space.   I recently finished my gallery wall and have some tips that I want to share with you that made it easier for me.

Gallery walls are a process (mine took 6 weeks to complete) but don’t fret, YOU GOT THIS! One picture at a time.

Supplies & Art:

Hammer & nails, tacky glue, mounting putty (behind the frames that wouldn’t stay put), gold paint, sandpaper (to distress some of the frames)

*Mirror, clock, and framed elephant art available at Target.

*Twine wrapped Letter ‘F’, gold paint, decorative keys, tweed heart, and oval wood piece with keyhole ceramic piece all available at Michaels.

*Weathered brown frame (upper right) available at West Elm.

*All other frames available at Home Goods.

Gallery Wall Tips:

* Check Pinterest and Instagram Check these sites for gallery walls to see what styles, colors and arrangements you like.

*Everyone Can afford a gallery wall: My gallery wall pictured above includes only 2 pricey pieces, the rest are super affordable pieces (hello $25 mirror) mixed with DIY stuff.  Don’t let your budget stop you! Also, Don’t limit yourself to only store-bought items. If you love a particular frame in your home, you can paint it to match your theme. There are youtube tutorials for EVERYTHING and you can watch step by step videos on sanding, staining and painting frames.

*Make it your own: pick a color palette. I chose ivory, black & gold. All of your art doesn’t need to match, but having 2-3 primary colors makes it more cohesive when completed. I also went with only black & white prints and photos to keep things uniform.

*Don’t be afraid to use different frames: Different sizes, shapes & colors only add to the greatness of your gallery wall.

*Lay it out:  I cannot stress enough to lay out your gallery wall arrangement BEFORE putting anything on the wall. I layed mine out on the floor, changed it around a few times, took pictures and compared the pictures until I was happy with the arrangement.

*All in the family: Tie your gallery wall colors in with your surrounding couch, blankets, coffee table, and throw pillows. This keeps everything cohesive within the space.

*Hang time: Hang your artistic representation any way you want. I keep reading all sorts of rules about arranging your gallery wall, but just remember- it is YOUR gallery wall so hang it how you want. As long as it’s balanced with shapes & spacing, your gallery wall will be just fine. Speaking of spacing: The wall is your friend- the space between your art is just as important as the art itself. I started with putting my largest piece up and went from there. I chose to not put the largest piece dead center. I feel like that would be expected and it can cause your eye to be drawn toward that piece and not all of the fun stuff around it.

Breathe: You can do it!

Top 5 Summer Must Have Lipsticks!

17 Jun

Summer is a great time to embrace color in your makeup regimen. Although I prefer going minimal on my makeup during the warmest months, I do enjoy a pop of color on my lips. For my day to day summer looks, I usually skip eyeshadow and only wear tinted moisturizer, a touch of blush and some mascara! If I’m not wearing my go to nude lip gloss, I opt for one of these 5 colors below!

Most are pinks, one is a purple and one is a coral. These colors look great on all skin tones so DON’T BE SCARED of some color in your life!

Girl About Town by MAC $16 – Besides ‘Rebel'( which I wear religiously during the Fall/ Winter months) ‘Girl about Town’ is my favorite MAC color EVER EVER EVER! It is such a pretty fuchsia pink!

Girl-About-Town

Candy Yum Yum by MAC $16– this color may seem risky for some, but this hot pink adds instant POW to your look!

FireBall Butter Lipstick by NYX $6– This color is NOT true to tube which is great because it looks reddish at first, but goes on as a beautiful coral color!

fireball

Brazen Berry by Maybelline $6– This beautiful berry color is a pretty purple that everyone can pull off. Also, be sure to Google Pantone color of the year, this lipstick IS an exact match to radiant orchid!

Vivid Rose by Maybelline $6– Think perfect pink. This bright(but not too bright) pink is perfect all Summer long!

It is just a matter of taste and whether you want to remain more on the “neutral/colorful” side or the ‘bright/colorful” side.  Either way, these palettes are PERFECT for summertime and are So pretty!
