Target & Neiman Marcus Get creative!

Mark your calendars!!!!  An epic collaboration is coming to Target and Neiman Marcus December 1st!  The two retailers recruited 24 American designers to create limited-edition gift items with prices ranging from $7.99 to $499.99, with most items under $60.  The entire collection(more than 50 pieces) will be available in stores and online at both retailers december 1st. In honor of the partnership, the two companies are jointly making a $1 million donation to the CFDA, affirming their support of American design!  More information to come….check in at Target and Neiman Marcus.

MAC Expands Nail Color Collection!

Until now MAC has only offered 8 shades of nail color in its permanent collection.  The other shades we fell in love with were limited editions and others rotated in and out.

30 shades hit Nordstrom and MAC stores July 5 some new, some re-released and another 35 shades will hit stores August 2 bringing the total to a whopping 65 shades!!!!!!!  MAC is officially a player in the lucrative nail polish game!  The polishes come in three finishes-pearl, frost and cream and retail for $16.

Floral Jeans

As the proud new owner of floral jeans I wanted to do a post that would inspire you to get a pair as well.  I did have floral jeans as a kid but this is my first pair in my adulthood.  Floral is so fun and they come in many color combos from grey to brights to colorful pastels, it’s up to you.  I purchased a grey Current/Elliott pair(#4 below), yes I was bold enough for the print but not bold enough for color…..baby steps!  I wore mine with a white v neck and pink sandals and plan to wear them into Fall with bold blues and blacks.  As far as shoes, they look great with sandals, flats, wedges and heels! When wearing floral jeans, my only advice is to pair them with solid pieces so that the jeans are on a stage of their own.  Below are some ideas on how to wear them and also some pairs to shop. Chanel Couture Goes Vintage!

Entitled New vintage, Chanel’s Couture F/W 2012-13 show certainly had a retro feel.  The  nostalgic collection included many soft  pinks and greys in addition to some black and creams , very Jackie-O . The french fashion house was sure to include trademark boucle’ jackets and sparkly tweed pieces as well.  Overall, I really loved the femininity of the collection.  Here are some looks from the runway.

Christian Louboutin Creates Cinderella’s Slipper

Christian Louboutin and Disney have come together to create a real life version of Cinderella’s glass slippers Quite possibly the most memorable shoe in fairy tale history  to celebrate the re-release of the iconic Disney film.  Made of crystal adorned lace for the look of transparency and no shortage of sparkles, the shoe complete with red sole will not be available for mass sale, there will however be a giveaway of 20 pairs this fall.  Disney and Louboutin will release details of the giveaway on august 17.  20 lucky ladies will see their fairy tail dreams come to life!!!!!

Dior’s Raf Simons Silences Critics with Debut!

Christian Dior’s show has been the talk of Paris couture week.  New designer Raf Simons’s debut at the fashion house came with speculation.  Would he live up to the iconic brand’s name?  The spectacular flower filled show took place at a grand residence near the Arc de tromphe.  There was an overwhelming support from Simons’s peers. Fellow designers Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Donatella Versace, Alber Elbaz and Christopher Kane among others were in attendance proving that Simons is highly respected among fashions elite.  After John Galliano’s sudden and quite scandalous departure  from Dior early last year, all eyes were on Simons and today he proved he is ready…..he did not disappoint, he triumphed!
