Nude Lips! (under $5)

I love a good nude lip color. I also love a great deal as most of you know! Today I’m sharing my 2 go-to nude lip pies, one is a gloss and one is a lip balm- BOTH are less than $5!

Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss.

This peach scented and slightly shimmery lip balm is perfect for everyday. Has the feel of chapstick with a nude/ peachy tint. Very hydrating as well!

NYX Butter gloss in Creme Brulee.

This silky smooth butter lip gloss lives up to its name! It glides on like butter and actually stays put! It is also no secret that this lip gloss is a dupe for many high-end lippies including NARS and Lorac.

Top 5 Summer Must Have Lipsticks!

Summer is a great time to embrace color in your makeup regimen. Although I prefer going minimal on my makeup during the warmest months, I do enjoy a pop of color on my lips. For my day to day summer looks, I usually skip eyeshadow and only wear tinted moisturizer, a touch of blush and some mascara! If I’m not wearing my go to nude lip gloss, I opt for one of these 5 colors below!

Most are pinks, one is a purple and one is a coral. These colors look great on all skin tones so DON’T BE SCARED of some color in your life!

Girl About Town by MAC $16 – Besides ‘Rebel'( which I wear religiously during the Fall/ Winter months) ‘Girl about Town’ is my favorite MAC color EVER EVER EVER! It is such a pretty fuchsia pink!

Candy Yum Yum by MAC $16– this color may seem risky for some, but this hot pink adds instant POW to your look!

FireBall Butter Lipstick by NYX $6– This color is NOT true to tube which is great because it looks reddish at first, but goes on as a beautiful coral color!

Brazen Berry by Maybelline $6– This beautiful berry color is a pretty purple that everyone can pull off. Also, be sure to Google Pantone color of the year, this lipstick IS an exact match to radiant orchid!

Perfect Summer Palettes!

Every year Spring/Summer rolls around, I get so excited to use my bolder and brighter lip colors, eyeshadows and blushes! There is no better time to incorporate beautiful color into your makeup routine. This Spring/Summer Lorac released 2 great colorful palettes that are sleek and perfect for travel as well as reasonably priced at $24. Both palettes feature 10 shimmer and matte shadows which include 2 oversized neutral shades allowing countless color combinations. The palettes are quite similar, so if you can only afford one, don’t worry!  One palette (After Glo)does feature some brighter colors than the other palette (Summer Glo) which you will see in the pictures below! It is just a matter of taste and whether you want to remain more on the “neutral/colorful” side or the ‘bright/colorful” side.  Either way, these palettes are PERFECT for summertime and are So pretty!

Lupita Nyong’o New Face of Lancôme!

I was so excited to hear the news this past weekend that I had to share it with you all. My favorite red carpet queen, Lupita Nyong’o has been named the latest face of Lancôme. The French cosmetic house will feature the gorgeous actress in upcoming ads you can expect to see this September. What an amazing year she is having! Cheers to challenging mainstream beauty ideals and sharing the notion that beauty comes in many forms! Go Lupita!!!!

My New Favorite BB Cream!

Great product alert!!!!! Today I was informed by a good friend that she had found the BB cream of her dreams! When it comes to BB creams/Tinted moisturizers, I have tried them all. So I drove to my local Benefit makeup counter and tried it out! I must say this product outdoes them all. I was beyond impressed!

Here are a few reasons why-

*The coverage is great although it feels super lightweight. No cakey feel here!

*The Liquid to powder formula dries matte- with every other BB cream I’ve tried I feel they leave me somewhat shiny/sticky and I always have to set them with powder. So not the case with this product, I can wear it by itself!!!  or I can build on it if I want to for a night out.

*It has SPF 35! Not 15 or 20 like usual, but 35! That’s great!

*Blends right into my skin with this foundation brush. I can also use my fingers to dab it on dark spots etc. for a bit more coverage.

The only cons are-

*I feel like the shades don’t go dark enough for deep skinned makeup lovers. There are 6 shades available and I wear the 5th darkest and I’m not that dark! My favorite fashionista Lupita Nyong’o would NOT be able to wear this and that’s a damn shame! The product is fairly new, so I’m holding out hope that they will include more shades in the future.

*looks amazing over moisturizer- not so perfect without moisturizer. I always moisturize when I wash my face or get out of the shower, but for those of you who don’t, this product skims over dry patches of skin without really covering them.

If you’re willing to moisturize first- this is the best BB cream on the market in my opinion! Give it a shot!

I also purchased the Boi-ing industrial strength concealer for my little pimple friends that come to visit and it covers flawlessly!

Spring Makeup Collabs You’ll Love!

Another designer cosmetics collaboration  is in the works people!!!! NARS and Phillip Lim have a 9 piece nail lacquer collection that will be available in August!  The news was announced today at Lim’s Fall 2014 fashion show.

In other makeup news, the highly anticipated MAC Proenza Schouler makeup collection will hit stores in April. The collection includes face powder, eyeliner,nail lacquer, lipstick and more! You may want to get your hands on this quick, the collection is a limited!

NYFW Alexander Wang/ Jill Stuart F/W’14!

Alexander Wang’s main strength was definitely outerwear. The coats in this collection were nothing short of amazing. There were so many gorgeous button and pocket details!  The stiff side swept hair and the “no eyebrow” look created an androgynous feel that left me wanting more.

Jill Stuart’s collection was  feminine and flirty. I couldn’t get enough of the sparkles and textures!!!!!!! The models “undone” hair and fresh faces were  beautiful as well. So pretty!

Color Of The Year!!!!

Every year Pantone also known as the authority on color announces the “color of the year” and this year it’s a lovely purplish/fuschia hue they call Radiant Orchid.

As with any trend, a great way to get involved is to start with makeup.  Everyone can afford a lipstick or a nail polish and it’s not as risky as wearing a dress or a coat in that hue if you’re not that into color. Below are some fun makeup products to shop that will get you right into this trend!
