Vera Wang Ready to wear Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
With an “out of india” theme, this collection was a hit! There was a beautiful palette of colors including rich greens, purples and gold. Shapes ranged from structured to fluid and much attention was paid to detail( no shocker, Vera is a perfectionist). I also loved all the use of chantilly hand pieced lace, so pretty.

New York Fashion Week continues…….
Here are some looks from the Charlotte Ronson Spring/Summer 2013 collection. She used prints and leather beautifully while leaving no shortage of color pale yellows, blues and pinks. I loved all of the wedges and the use of oversized handbags was a fun, yet funky addition as well.

I loved this peplum lace dress with black stripe detail.
This cutout color block dress had amazing movement on the runway.
This sky and water print peplum is to die for, so pretty.
Hot off the tails of Fashion’s Night out…..New york Fashion Week is in full swing. New york will host eight glorious days of fashion, before the fashion crowds head to London, Milan and Paris.
Jason Wu presented his Spring/Summer 2013 collection Friday. Celebrating the woman’s silhouette, this collection had modern sex appeal, and a perfectly balanced contrast of hard & soft elements represented mostly with leather and lace although tulle and other sheer materials were present as well. Most of the collection was black and white with some pops of navy and red. I usually like a lot more color for S/S but this collection worked for me and I wouldn’t change a thing. Hair and makeup was perfect, I was fond of the ruby-red lips and sleek side swept hair, which was beautifully done without being distracting. My absolute favorite moment was when legendary model Carolyn Murphy opened the show in her beautiful leather sheath dress. Amazing!
As for the collection, Wu said he was inspired by two photographers with differing styles — Helmut Newton’s erotically charged imagery and Lillian Bassman’s soft dream-like imagery. “It’s two completely different styles. One’s quite beautiful, couture and the other is quite provocative and sexy and I love the idea of those two coming together a softness and a hardness coming together and I wanted to make a collection that sort of balanced, just teetered on that line of sexy but still sophisticated,” he said. My favorite look!
I love pastels and adore wearing light and fun colors all Spring and Summer long. This past Spring/Summer was no different I wore pastels like crazy but I wore the hell out of MINT!!!!!!! I LOVE ALL THINGS MINT! I really had a love affair with the robin’s egg hue! Now that Summer is coming to an end…..I am sad to say goodbye to my beloved mint pieces as I move on and embrace my “darker” side for Fall/Winter. I’m not saying I’ll be totally mintless…..there are days where I will wear it I’m sure……….but I won’t be wearing mint whenever possible like I have for the last 6 months.
Mint…..I will always love you and perhaps next Spring we will pick up where we left off.

The 69th Venice Film Festival kicked off it’s opening ceremonies yesterday with loads of fashion moments. The festival runs from August 29 until September 8 and the looks are amazing thus far!!!!! Here are some of my favorite on and off of the red carpet.

Christian Louboutin and Disney have come together to create a real life version of Cinderella’s glass slippers Quite possibly the most memorable shoe in fairy tale history to celebrate the re-release of the iconic Disney film. Made of crystal adorned lace for the look of transparency and no shortage of sparkles, the shoe complete with red sole will not be available for mass sale, there will however be a giveaway of 20 pairs this fall. I love Peach and off white together, it’s a combo that can never go wrong. It’s also a great way to try color without stepping too far out of your comfort zone . Other wearing options…..Cream can be worn with pretty much any other color from black to red and everything in between. Peach looks great with other pastels*mint shown below and neutrals. Peach also looks stunning on olive and dark skin tones and while most fair skinned fashionistas have to be weary of pinks and reds, peach is very complimentary to lighter skin tones as well. Lace is such a feminine and flirty detail on clothing . You don’t have to be super girly to rock the lace look though, it works as long as you don’t go crazy with it. The key is to wear only 1 wardrobe piece covered in lace or you can end up looking like a doilie. I also prefer to stick to solid accessories when wearing lace, I like the lace to be the main focus as I would with a printed dress. Here are some lace looks you can try.
