What are the “it” colors for 2013????? I can’t choose just one! The two colors that I won’t be able to live without are Emerald and Lilac!!!! So many of my favorite fashion moments have included at least one of these colors , if not both! Emerald has always been a go to color in my wardrobe but I’m really making room for lilac this year and am very excited about it. If you’re not big into color you can start by adding a shoe or clutch to your outfit or adding these colors into your makeup regimen. If you love color, go crazy with it- The more the merrier!
Some colorful inspiration…..

I love pastels and adore wearing light and fun colors all Spring and Summer long. This past Spring/Summer was no different I wore pastels like crazy but I wore the hell out of MINT!!!!!!! I LOVE ALL THINGS MINT! I really had a love affair with the robin’s egg hue! Now that Summer is coming to an end…..I am sad to say goodbye to my beloved mint pieces as I move on and embrace my “darker” side for Fall/Winter. I’m not saying I’ll be totally mintless…..there are days where I will wear it I’m sure……….but I won’t be wearing mint whenever possible like I have for the last 6 months.
Mint…..I will always love you and perhaps next Spring we will pick up where we left off.

François Nars and designer Thakoon Panichgul aren’t new to collaborating they’ve worked together at New York fashion week. However this season they have come together and developed a limited edition nail polish collection featuring six shades. This will be the first ever nail collaboration Nars has done with a fashion designer. Each of the six shades is named after a spice or medicinal plant and are inspired by the colors found in Indian spice markets. The bright colors are just in time for Summer. The nail color is high gloss, chip resistant and formaldehyde free. “long lasting” keeps popping up in many early reviews I’ve seen . Shop theses colors starting May 1st at narscosmetics.com . They are also available right now for pre-order at Nordstrom. $18
Of all the colors in the rainbow, besides neutrals I think purple is the most wearable shade when it comes to eyeshadow. It’s not as girly as pink yet not as risky as blue. I have brown eyes and wear all eyeshadow colors but I love the way purple looks most. From lavender to lilac and plum to eggplant, purple shades flatter all eye colors. You can go for a single shade look or smoke it out, the possibilities are endless! I really don’t believe in makeup rules but I know there are definitely pairings that look better than others. Here are some complimentary color combinations depending on your eyes.
Brown eyes: look beautiful with warmer purples and accented with bronzes and golds.
Blue eyes: look so pretty with cooler shades of purple and accented with greys.
Green eyes: Green eyes look absolutely amazing with ANY shade of purple and especially with eggplant and plum tones. Green eyes and purple shadows are a pair made in heaven. The color combination really POPS!
Remember these are combinations that work for sure, but any shade of purple may look gorgeous on you no matter what your eye color, so TRY shadows on! you never know until you do.
Here are some pictures of purples on many different eye colors and shapes; different skin tones as well.
