New Affordable Eyebrow Kit!
28 MarHi everyone, as you know I’m a bit obsessed with brows and brow kits. I prefer wax and powder kits over eye pencils because they fill in brows perfectly without looking drawn on or fake. My favorite brow kit thus far is by NYC and comes in 2 shades, but now NYX has a kit of their own that comes in 6 shades!!!! Leaving no brow lover behind! The NYC kit has been good to me, but I will definitely be using the NYX kit as well. If you’ve only tried pencils, I suggest you try a powder and wax kit and at these prices it’s worth it!
NYC Brow kit. $4 This kit is only $4 but only comes in 2 shades and the shades are a single color and wax. If you’re on a super tight budget and happen to match these colors, this kit is for you.

Fabulous Friday Finds- Beauty Edition ( nothing over $20)
8 MarHappy Friday Fashionistas!!!!!! Today’s FFF post is all about beauty and includes my favorite products that are $20 or less. While I do have my pricier items that I can’t live without, most of my favorite beauty products are affordable and I’m going to share them with you today! These products are available at your local Ulta beauty store or drugstores like Target, Rite Aid and CVS. Happy shopping.
NYX Matte Bronzer $9
I love this product and use it to contour and add glow without shimmer!
Aquaphor $4
This “vaseline like” stuff repairs most any dry skin including lips, cuticles, elbows, knees etc. I use it on my lips every night before bed.
NYX matte lip cream $6
This is my go to lip color most days of the week, it’s matte and stains the lips perfectly without being sticky or drying out my lips.
Milani Crystal lipgloss $4
When I want slight shine, this lip gloss is perfect. I usually take it out with me, it’s so tiny and fits in any clutch. My favorite color is whisper- a nice peachy pink.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 70. $10 Remember……you only get 1 face! Protect it!!!!!
SPF 70 is what I use on my face every day whether or not I wear makeup it’s just a part of my daily routine. I did however have a hard time finding sunscreen that I liked for my face because I have sensitive skin that breaks out easily with new products or greasy lotions. This formula is very light and NOT STICKY!
Maybelline Falsies Mascara $7
This is my favorite mascara of all time (although clump crusher is close second now). I put 2 coats on my upper lashes and 1 coat on my lower and I’m good to go. I don’t wear false lashes so this product is my “falsies”.
Urban Decay Primer Potion- eyeshadow primer $20
I don’t even attempt to wear eyeshadow without this miracle product! It keeps my eye shadow crease free for hours upon hours and helps the color ‘pop’ as well! I have tried all the primers on the market and this is by far my favorite, it’s the only one that works for me.
NYC Brow Kit $4
This is my favorite brow kit not only because it works great, but the price is incredible!!!!! I’m kind of obsessed with beautiful thick eyebrows and this kit helps me maintain mine! I have never been a fan of eye brow pencils because in my experiences they always leave room for error- and by error I mean a drawn on clown eyebrow look- which is so not for me. I’ve always preferred brush on powder and wax kits because they give a more natural look while still filling in brows flawlessly! So if you want thick bold brows or just need a little help filling in, this product won’t let you down!

What’s In My Bag? 10 things You’d Be Surprised To Know About Me!
21 FebOh Em Geeee….I was suppose to do this post a week ago and just remembered! These “what’s in my purse” posts are all over the blogosphere right now and I recently got my inspiration from Amy’s vintage Closet when she did a post on it. I also saw a fun “10 things you’d be surprised to know about me” post last week and thought I’d partake in that as well and put them both into one post for you guys! So here we go! Please excuse the poor lighting and camera flashes, I literally just took these pictures and it’s dark here in California! Ok time for show & tell!
What’s Inside my purse? It changes everyday depending on the purse of course, the bigger the bag…. the more stuff I seem to “need”. I pretty much always have these 10 things floating around from purse to purse with me, and as you can see, I have a case for everything! Keeps everything organized and easy to find.
Here’s what’s in todays purse!
1. Coin Purse- I love having a specific place for coins.
2. Keys- can’t live without those.
3. Sunglasses- definitely need those in California.
4.Makeup bag- holds mostly lip stuff and anything else that’s small.( mirror, hair ties, nail file, tweezers, pink swiss army knife etc.)
5.Business card holder- so cute and pink.
6. Clicky pen- free from my bank.
7. iPhone- my first one ever…in love!
8.Wallet- going on 7 years old…you’d never know it.
9. Gum- gotta stay fresh and minty.
10. Cute pouch- holds my camera.
That’s a wrap for my purse—–nothing too spectacular. Now onto the good stuff!
10 things You’d Be Surprised To Know About Me!
I find that I get the biggest reactions when people find these things out about me……
1. I’m not that into chocolate- I don’t know why but I prefer caramel or peanut butter over chocolate any day… and when I do eat it, it’s gotta be packed with nuts, caramel anything!
2. Are you sitting down? ok here it goes! I actually like and wear UGG BOOTS! YES it’s true! Are they cute? Not really, but they’re warm and cozy for cold days, camping and running errands.
3. I love the great outdoors and that includes hiking and camping (In tents, without showers).
4. I have a very large tattoo on my ribs/torso area. It’s cherry blossoms with branches and Japanese lanterns.
5. I love cars! I love pretty cars and I love tough cars! I just love a beautiful, well-engineered vehicle. If I had all the money in the world my car collection would trump Jay Leno’s.
6. I have horrible penmanship- you cannot differentiate between my hand writing chicken scratch and most 6 year olds, it’s quite horrible. ( I should have been a Dr.)
7. I love watching football- and I actually know the rules! I prefer College, but will watch most any level! Best sport ever!
8. I’m happily married to a woman- not really a big deal to me, my friends and my family but it’s “shocking” for some. I am sometimes saddened at the reactions of a few but at the same time I have witnessed so many people “see the light” so to speak , when they realize that our marriage is just as normal as the next couple. If you’ve read my wedding ring posts, this is old news. However if this can change even one persons perspective on this subject, then it was worth sharing in my opinion.
9. I have been fascinated with the stock market since I was 18 and able to invest (play)–S&P500, Dow Jones, NASDAQ, Mutual funds, Bonds—you name it! Wall Street is a very entertaining and sometimes nail-biting, yet very profitable game that every adult should partake in! Time literally is money and more people need to stop wasting time! Take this as a “sign” and start asking questions, use half of your tax return to open up a Fidelity account, E-Trade etc. While you’re at it, Max out on your 40lk! Now’s the time don’t wait- life only gets more expensive as you get older! So if you think you can’t afford to set aside some money now, you really won’t be able to later. Build your nest egg NOW! Ok I’m done blabbing about that!
10. I have a dog rescue kit in my trunk and dog & cat food as well ready to feed any hungry animal wherever I may be. Sounds silly I know but I’ve used that kit successfully about a dozen times and the food hundreds of times!!!!!

Drew Barrymore’s New(affordable) Makeup Line
26 JanDrew Barrymore is the latest celebrity to create her own makeup collection Flower which debuted this month exclusively at Wal- Mart. Her over 180 piece collection includes eye, face, lip and nail products which are available at 1,500+ Wal-Mart locations. What is great about this collection is that it’s cruelty free(not tested on animals) and the price point is beyond amazing- nothing is over $15! It is luxury products at mass market prices. According to the press release the collection is “formulated with the same quality ingredients found in department store luxury brands, but sold for a fraction of the price”.
How did Barrymore produce such high quality products at such fair prices???? Well Barrymore and team chose to skip paid advertising and rely solely on blogs, social media, word of mouth and Barrymore’s popularity to do the “advertising”,which frees up the usual 20-30% that would fund advertising. That money is then able to then go into the formulation of great products. The same formulas that high-end companies all over the world are using. Impressive to say the least! I can’t wait to try it!

Paris Couture Fashion Week 2013
24 JanWith Paris couture fashion week coming to an end today, I must admit I feel like I’ve watched a fairy tale unfold before my eyes. This particular fashion week which solely concentrates on haute couture pieces from fashion designers around the world, is my favorite of all fashion weeks. I look forward to the opulent, magical, detailed pieces that come down those Parisian runways. These are the most beautiful creations in the fashion industry all in one place; all in one week (4 days technically). The craftsmanship is absolutely impeccable as the designers pull out all the stops to see their “dream” creations come to light. One of these dresses can take over 2,000 hours of work to create. While many designers showcased their collections, I had four favorites- Valentino, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli and Zuhair Murad. These designers lived up to my ultimate fashion dreams of Paris couture fashion week! Just beautiful!!!!!

The Two Must Have Colors For 2013!!!
22 JanWhat are the “it” colors for 2013????? I can’t choose just one! The two colors that I won’t be able to live without are Emerald and Lilac!!!! So many of my favorite fashion moments have included at least one of these colors , if not both! Emerald has always been a go to color in my wardrobe but I’m really making room for lilac this year and am very excited about it. If you’re not big into color you can start by adding a shoe or clutch to your outfit or adding these colors into your makeup regimen. If you love color, go crazy with it- The more the merrier!
